Bio

Kadija SIMBORO is passionate about energy and women's empowerment. She is an energy expert with over 10 years of experience in the renewable energy sector in West Africa. She is particularly interested in energy policy, energy planning, monitoring systems and project evaluation in the on and off-grid energy market. She works on several initiatives and programmes for access to productive use of energy as a lever for empowerment of vulnerable people and women’s empowerment.

  Kadija, as an Energy Thematic Lead at Practical Action, is responsible for providing support to the delivery of Practical Action’s energy strategy for the West Africa regional office. She manages energy access projects in West Africa, provides technical input to Practical Action’s projects in the region, and builds the network of associates. Kadija also line-manages energy team and facilitates joint working with Practical Action’s other regional and country offices in Africa and UK.
