Dalal Helmi

Bio

Dr. Dalal HELMI graduated from the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, in 1993. She received her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering (Power System Protection) from the same university in 1997 and 2001, respectively. Currently, she is the Sector Head of Electricity Market and Regional Interconnection at the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company. She is also a Board Member of the Middle Delta Electricity Production Company & the Egyptian Society of Engineers.

  Currently she is the Sector Head of Electricity Market @EEHC and Board Member in Middle Delta Electricity Production Company. Also, she is the Head of Steering Committee for Arab Interconnection with LAS and Member in the first PAEM Market Functions & Pricing Program Pilot, EEHC focal point with GEIDCO, Head of Egyptian Technical team (Planning, Operation and Market)@EAPP, the Head of Market Committee in EAPP till Dec.2024, played key role in activities related to Elec. Market -National, Regonal

• General Manager for Transmission Grid Efficiency

  Dr. Dalal HELMI has successfully played many key roles in her previous post related to Power System Operational Studies, WAMS Studies, Substation Component’ Specifications according to IEC requirement and certification process according to National and International Standards. Through being involved in BOO and IPP RE Projects and being expert in RE Integration issues, she played a key role he 1st Wind Integration Grid Code that sets the technical requirements to connect Wind Farms to EETC Grid.

  Dr. Dalal is a member of the Egyptian National Committees (NC) of WEC, CIRED, CIGRE and IEC, member of Cigre C5 and Reporter of Cigre NC C5. She is also member of Egyptian Electrical Engineers Society and Member of the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate.
